antiX: Single-boot Installation

Before you begin, you MUST properly save the appropriate data files on the hard drive, because this procedure erases it.
  1. Boot up with the antiX CD.
  2. After antiX has booted up, go to the antiX main menu (lower left corner) and select "antiX Installer". The administrative password is "root".
  3. Follow the instructions, read the terms and conditions, select the "I agree" box, and click the Next button.
  4. Choose the appropriate disk for installation. Select "Auto-install using entire disk". Click the Next button.
  5. When prompted to format and use the entire disk, click Yes.
  6. antiX will now install. The process will take a few minutes.
  7. After the main part of the installation, you will be prompted for the boot method. Use the default boot settings (installing on the MBR, "use initrd" selected) and click Next.
  8. Follow the additional instructions. When prompted, provide the user login name, user password, and root password.
  9. After the installation, antiX will reboot. Remove the CD when the CD drive ejects it.
  10. You can now boot up antiX from the hard drive. When prompted, enter your user name and password.
